I was diagnosed with arthritis in my neck, no one knows everything herbal cures for this condition?
I get pain all the way down my left side and I am taking anti inflamitary tablets but would rather not if there was a alternative but not sure what type it was suggested that it was caused by an injury I suffered when I was hit by a car on a number of years and hit my head on the windshield
You do not say what form of arthritis, and that makes all the dirfference in which treatments would be effective for you. I also wonder what kind of tests were performed … arthritic-like conditions can lead to serious complications and require further treatment. I would be sure to get a thorough examination if the DOC has not already done so. And it's always good to have a second opinion when it comes to arhtritis and spine. As for the herbal medicine, unfortunately, Most of them are ineffective. Again, what you use depends largely on the exact form of arthritis you have. Find information at webmd.com and drkoop.com UPDATE: Since you said in "additional details" that the condition is probably related to a neck injury, you may be quite limited in addition to effective treatments based on osteoarhritis. Again, check PubMed BEFORE you use a supplement recommended by a friend, a book or website. There may be limited benefits from S-adenosyl-l-methionine/SAMe (very expensive at doses effective and hard to find the same high quality), glucosamine and chondroiton may be less effective than SAMe, fish oil and omega-3 showed promising results in recent studies. Check the safety studies, dose, and efficiency before you buy! And always discuss your Supplem with your doctor to Drug-supplement interactions can be anticipated. Remember that there were very few studies on the effects long-term negative health of most dietary supplements and herbs!
